Stills of Bali.

KLIA has got cool placement of lights on the ceiling. Spent awhile studying if there was a pattern to the randomness. conclusion: nope.

Family resting on some cool benches before boarding the flight. Damn... I'm proud of our airport.

Reaching Bali, our pilot was kind enough to point out a smoking volcano on the island.

Touching Bali ground. We're greeted by some Gamelan style music.

Streets of Bali are narrow... I don't think I came across a double lane road, unless they were one way. Many of their roads are one way streets.

Bali is FULL of these "spirit gates". Doors/gates built not for people, but for spirits... or so I assume. Walking around Bali constantly reminds me of the anime Spirited Away.

The number plates there are very different from ours.

People in Bali are very religious. They leave offerings to God knows what all over the place. Generally, these offerings contain flowers, biscuits and sometimes cigarettes. lol. Free ciggys if you look hard enough...

Bali is also full of strange statues, like this. Goodness. What were they thinking when they put this up?

A really strange vehicle.

Bali is heaven for lady shoppers. Check out the accessories... and this is only what I can fit into my narrow camera view.

More strange statues... look closely....

And more strange cars.

Very cool. I can't imagine the work involved in carving that eagle. It's very nicely done.

Lack of tourist that drive the economy in Bali leave the people with lots of free time.

ARRGH! they have so many BB guns for sale there.

AARRRRRGGGHHHH!

Check out their decorative drain covers.

Reminds me of Roadtrip 0.1 beta.

Hehe.

Signboard at a bar/pub/whateveryoumaycallit.

Everyone is still afraid. But when we were there, Azahari the bomb maker was killed, and they were all happy. I'm happy for them too.

Check this DVD shop offer.

Kuta (where I stayed) beach is very cool. Every evening there will be people surfing the nice waves there...

...and hot chicks sunbathing.... HAHA. You missed this one Jason.

Kuta town at night. a very nice place.

Sup Buntut! (otherwise known as oxtail soup)

Dad let us taste some lobster for a treat. haha. I think lobsters are a waste of money.

One of the spots that was bombed.

Security tape still lying around.

There are rows and rows of pubs in Bali.

Some with very strange names.

The first bombing site has been converted into a monument.

There are horse carriages for hire, though they cost a bomb.

Mmmm... Nice buns.

More for the shopping addicts, sandal and shoe wholesalers.

A very cool motorbike.

Lots of artsy stuff for sale too, like oil paintings and wood carvings.

Woot, the driver we hired for the day took us to have some famous local fare. BABI GULING!

Check it out... HAHAHA. Oh well, not everyone appreciates it I suppose. But I think it was awesome.

A dog... reminds me of those huskies.

They sell some swords there, but after close inspection, I decided they were nothing like katanas. Just made to look that way on the outside.

Pretty weird looking shop.

There's lots of these stuff hanging around. More religious things I suppose.

Watching a woman weaving.

Taking a break at a really cool cafe called "The Wayan". Reminded me of my Trip to Bandung.

The cafe was in a garden... or maybe the garden was in the cafe. haha.

This guy is awesome. He's painting at a detail level of a laser printer. Picture taken at a art school.

I bet he's wondering why he didn't become a surgeon.

At Jimbaran for a sunset dinner.

Pretty interesting to see dog, bird and human footprints overlapping each other.

Awesome food!

I wonder why we don't have this in Malaysia. Do we? Eating on the beach, awesome food, with an awesome view.

This crab weighed in at 2 kilos.

Sun dipping below the horizon.

Darkness falls.

A bright star emerges (no, that's not a moon.)

And then the lights by the beach come on.

On the next day we went for some water sports.

These guys took us wakeboarding, where you stick your legs into that board and get pulled around by a speed boat. VERY cool, but not easy.

Then we went parasailing

The people there explaining to us how to land the parachute.

The smallest bottles sprite I have ever seen. Not like I've seen many sizes anyway, but still...

Steak for dinner. YUMM..

Then roasted pork knuckles for supper. WOOT! it took my whole family to finish this thing.

Bali is a strange place. They had strange drinks for sale there, like "pocari sweat"

And really cool kites (my dad bought one).

Situation is  a bit tense, as you can see here; The security guard has a mirror to check under cars for bombs.

But overall, Bali is beautiful. You won't regret paying it a visit.
