Tour of the historical city of Malacca with my Uni classmates
Chong Kok Yong, our tour guide (and classmate) meets us at the Ayer Keroh toll.
Checking up on the motorcade. 4 cars went.

Whee, officially entering Into Malacca territory
.jpg)
First time I'm eating here.
.jpg)
The crew!

Kok Yong says this chicken rice ball shop is special because it's just as good as the other, but much cheaper (indeed, the balls here only cost 15 cents, that's half the famous one near the red church. HOWEVER, I think the greatest part of this shop is the chili sauce. Oh My Goodness. It is so awesome, it is absolutely the best chicken rice chili sauce I've ever eaten. Lots of garlic blended into it, and I think they even mix it with the leftover 'soup' they get when they boil/steam the chicken, because even the chilli sauce taste like yummy chicken. THE SAUCE IS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC (have I stressed that enough already?)
.jpg)
200 balls for us. There's 50 there I think
.jpg)
And 3 whole chickens. + our drinks, the total of the meal (for 17 people) was only RM100. haha.
.jpg)
Demonstrating how to eat chicken rice balls. First you take a ball (doh)
.jpg)
Then, slice it in half with a spoon.
.jpg)
Place some chicken, sauce and spring onions for garnishing. Viola! (By the time I was done with this, my friends have already eaten half of the 200 balls)
.jpg)
You can include cucumbers into the mix if you want.
.jpg)
More fun with balls.
.jpg)
Trishaws. haha.
.jpg)
Parking in Malacca town requires these ticket thingies. Like how PJ used to be.
.jpg)
Temple street.
.jpg)
Lots of temples there, we visited a few. Quite some interesting sights.
.jpg)
Like this tall towers in the temple. Anyone know what's it for?
.jpg)
Random photo of an array of old switches in the temple.
.jpg)
And my classmates fascinated by signboards.
.jpg)
More random photos. I was rather trigger happy with my phone this time.
.jpg)
I thought this tree looked very nice.
.jpg)
OMG the shoes are so small. It's crazy. I cant even fit my hands in there, what more my feet.
.jpg)
What a mad tradition.
.jpg)
Cool fanta bottles at some curiosity shop
.jpg)
Colourful walls (yes it has been edited to bring out the colours)
.jpg)
After a long hot day of walking we went for some cendol at Jonker Street.
.jpg)
This is a pretty cool place, the ambience was beautiful. I couldn't really capture it on camera though. It's a cendol/laksa shop cum mini museum.
.jpg)
Kok Yong showing us how much Gula Melaka a real Malaccan can take.
.jpg)
All cendol should be like this, where the gula sticks to the spoon...
.jpg)
even after you've taken a spoonful of cendol. haha.
.jpg)
Antiques all over the shop.
.jpg)
Like this old picture...
.jpg)
That is actually an ancient cigarette advertisement. Pretty cool. haha.
.jpg)
Ancient. I didn't even know what F&N stood for.
.jpg)
We continued on to the red church. where this uncle was feeding his pet bird.
.jpg)
yada yada yada
.jpg)
Flowers.
.jpg)
The 'red church'.
.jpg)
Mmm...
.jpg)
Slowly making our way to A'Famosa
.jpg)
... Chris doing what he does best. Looking stupid.
.jpg)
Surprisingly, I had a really good time at the A'Famosa fort.
.jpg)
I never expected to like all this historical things,
.jpg)
but there was something about being there, the ambience, the sights, the sounds, the people...
.jpg)
... made the whole place very romantic to me. I don't know why.
.jpg)
Maybe it's how the people remember their loved ones.
.jpg)
Maybe it's the carvings that bring to mind those classic tales of love and honour
.jpg)
But I think mainly it was just the guitarist belting out his oldies.
.jpg)
And the people.

These pictures look weird, because I didn't resize them properly. Too lazy to correct them now.

At the main gate of the fort.

Mmmmmkay....
.jpg)
More walking around.
.jpg)
Some enterprising Malaysians decide to do some modifications to the words.
.jpg)
And then there are the silly boys who just have to break the rules.
.jpg)
Deral and Chris contemplating life.

Chris doing what he does best again.

Group picture!
.jpg)
Chris....

FUN TIME! PLAY GROUND! YAY!!!
.jpg)
I don't even know what's this supposed to be.

My friends were pretty amused by the mudskippers along the river.

The guys seem to be more amused by that ang morr though...
.jpg)
Super Ghetto Jetty.
.jpg)
Wow... if that was true...
.jpg)
... I pity the Malaccan lives.
.jpg)
The satay celup shop has been upgraded since the last time I've been there.
.jpg)
I was too full to really enjoy everything, but the prawns were good, and at RM0.50 a piece, not too expensive.
.jpg)
We spent the later part of the evening loitering around Makhota parade. Here, the pretty bos are getting their face washed after a whole long day of walking around in the sun.
.jpg)
At about 9pm, we visit the portugese settlement looking for some good grill fish, but the food was so sucky (and expensive) we didn't even bother to take pictures.
.jpg)
At about 11, we visit our last stop, a desert shop.
.jpg)
Check out the menus...
.jpg)
LOL. What weird names...

Chris showing us how it's done. We were very very full after a full day of eating, so the challenge was to finish the whole bowl. Only freddy couldn't finish his I think. Poor guy was sipping his concoction like a kid taking those medicine syrups.

That's mine. Dinasour egg QQ ice.

So

many

different

types

of

ice

shaving

deserts!

And if you noticed, they all had freakin weird raisins on them. This is mine after awhile. My friends say it looks like drain water. Tastes hella weird too, like assamboi juice. But the fruits inside were great. We left for home at midnight. ( =
