Penang Penang Penang!

Darren couldn't wait to get out of her clutches... HAHAHA. Not.

Packing our stuff.

ORLY owl pose.

All right, hitting the road at 1.25 am

First pit stop! Haha, as usual.

Josh searched frantically for the VIP drive through sticker and slammed it on his window. We claimed a free large fries.

Unfortunately, some idiot (me) left the charger for the camera batteries back home, fortunately we were near by, so we turned back.

Charger secured.

Strange people in Bidor petrol station.

I'm up the first. Ah Kit was... I wouldn't call that snoring.... He was... uhh manifesting. Whole night. Choking gagging sputtering spluttering pig. Darren had a "great" night's sleep. LOLLER

The famous duck noodles for breakfast.

We decided to follow the back roads for a bit. passing by Tapah.

Then Kampar

Back on the highway. Don't see many large logs like this often anymore.

Penang!

Anyone know which state uses 'R'?

Ah kit tortured us for the entire ride from Bidor to Penang, consistently releasing poisonous gas clouds ever 10 minutes in the car. The car stank for the next 3 days.

Yup. the end of the world is nigh. Buy your bicycles now.

Cool.

We booked ourselves into this place, as as we were tired, we paid for the first night and quickly went to our room.

This picture makes the hotel looks nicer than it really is. It sucks.

We hit Plaza Gurney in the early evening, and got ourselves some movie tickets, then went to the temporary relocation point of the Gurney drive hawkers for dinner

Remember stall no.11 assam laksa. It's good. the Kimberly street soya bean is good too. Everything else we tried that night was mediocre.

Ah kit must always do the limbo.

After watching Election 2, and Poseidon, (both in a row) we find ourselves lost and unable to get back to our car at the basement. Forced to circle around the mall and shit.

The next morning, me and Josh got up to meet his friend/client.

Mr. Khor took us in his S80 the famous "Sisters" char kuey teow

I don't know if it's the best,

But the paper clippings seem to say so.

Funny. They have posters teaching you how NOT to move the tables, and how NOT to bring in outside food. LOL.

Yup.

Yummy. The prawns were very outstanding. If there's any reason to eat this, it's the prawns. The white stuff is crab meat. haha. WIN WIN WIN!

Seasoned? Engrish plix.

Mr. Khor gave us a voucher for a room here for RM168 nett, but alas... they were out of rooms!

Mmmmm...

This place is awesome I tell you. More on the awesomeness later.

Mr Khor also showed us the way to Swatow lane, so we took the Ah Kit and Darren there for lunch while waiting for arrangements for a room in lone pine.

The food here is good.

It's supposed to be famous for it's ice kacang too.

Yum yum.

We then tried mee Sultan, the mee that the sultan of Kedah allegedly eats.

I liked it. haha. And I don't usually eat mee.

Strange to see a movie canceled. We wanted to watch Da Vinci, but decided we'll do other things instead.

Monitor lizard on the way back. Nice shot darren.

After our lunch at Swatow lane, we got another voucher from Mr. Khor which upgraded us to a deluxe room (which were available) Totally awesome!

The lone pine is great.

A nice pool, the beach bungalow where they serve am impressive breakfast buffet spread is in the background.

Water sports and horse riding, just outside

And lots of 'ang mor'!!!!11oneone!!1

Josh inflated his balls and got a picture with these two from Melbourne.

Nice very nice.

Hammocks!

Lots of these water spouts all over the hotel area.

The comforter on the bed is made of some awesome denim material... and It's all thick and fluffy too! The best comforter I've used so far... cept for maybe the silk one in Bali.

Wish you were here yet?

Experimenting with the camera.

At night, we head back to the relocated gurney drive stalls to try more things. the Muar Chee was great.

We don't know if this is the best stall, but it's awesome.

Later we walked the night market. Darren bought lots of stuff.

Funny toy. Lawl.

They sell quite a number of curious things like swords and katana's too.

Darren trying to be a samurai. HAHAHAHA!

Cool slippers they provided in the lone pine.

Darren, always on call.

Yup. Josh brought his comforter and pillow to Penang.

He wouldnt get up, so we heaped everything on top of him.

Why do we not have this in KL?

Ahh.. Plaza Gurney. Seriously folks, Penang has more hot chicks than anywhere else in Malaysia (and Singapore) per square feet. Don't believe me? Hit this mall on a busy night. WIN WIN WIN!

Buying back some of the famous biskits.

Went back to the "sisters" shop. Had some fried kuey teow again, and otak otak.

Pat Poh Cooling Drink?

I dunno if these are the sisters. haha.

Look! Brandless private vending machine. There's Coke and Pepsi side by side.

It wasn't me. And this was only for a test. Don't worry. We didn't drive at this speed. lol.

Not to be outdone, we reach KL just in time for prayer meeting in church, then head up Genting!

We were having a hilarious time trying to figure out what about this girl that mad her almost hot, and what about her that made her not.

Orange poppy seed muffin + cream frappucino + raspberry tea.

I'm still wearing the lone pine slippers. HAHA!

The end. (In case you're wondering, he's just holding the sleeves of my jacket. My hands are somewhere else, and no. I'm not gay.) Next roadtrip should be more hardcore. This one was a little too carebear.
